Cities of the South Caucasus:
three decades of transformation
The call seeks to build a visual dialogue with the theme of iQuaderni#15 to be issued in the first quarter of 2018. We are looking for a cover that could be meaningful as regards the theme of cities of the South Caucasus2 : the editors of this issue suggest to explore and analyse the socio-spatial implications of more than 25 years of transition in urban landscapes. The call focuses on the processes developed from the early 2000s, but not exclusively, as this is the period of more intense change in the whole region in terms of political alterations, economic growth and urban restructuring.
How would you answer this call with a picture? How would you represent urban transition in the cities of the South Caucasus? What pictures of the city better describe this kind of change? A neighbourhood? An iconic building? A piece of art or a symbol? A depiction of urban life? We eagerly await your answers!

La call intende costruire un dialogo visuale con il tema de iQuaderni#15 in uscita nel primo trimestre 2018. Cerchiamo quindi l’immagine di copertina che riesca a dire la sua sul tema delle città del Caucaso meridionale: i curatori del numero propongono di esplorare e analizzare le implicazioni socio-spaziali di oltre 25 anni di transizione nei paesaggi urbani di questi territori. La call intende concentrare l’attenzione, ma non è un requisito esclusivo, nei processi posti in essere a partire dagli anni 2000, poiché si tratta del periodo di maggior cambiamento nell’area per quanto riguarda la politica, la crescita economica e la rigenerazione urbana.
