Call for photos
Energy Planning in Mediterranean Landscapes
edited by Anna Laura Palazzo and Federica Benelli
The scientific journal QU3 – iQuaderni di UrbanisticaTre (issn 2531-7091) is looking for a Photographic project to complement its issue no.19, edited by Anna Laura Palazzo and Federica Benelli, Energy Planning in Mediterranean Landscapes.
1. Subject of the Photographic project:
This call seeks to build a visual dialogue with the theme of QU3#19 to be issued in the first quarter of 2019. It is focused on integrated energy planning in the Mediterranean countries, intended as a set of approaches, processes and practices aimed at bringing together different objectives and disciplinary contributions.
The energy sector, notably the Renewables (RES), unquestionably important for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, will keep increasing its influence in the years to come.
As a matter of fact, an increase in the RES may bring to cultural and natural heritage and to the environmental balance even severe side effects. No need to remind the manifold impacts of energy plants (wind farms, solar fields, energy crop fields, etc.) and of their infrastructures (roads, distribution lines, etc.) on territory and landscape. How would you answer this call with a picture?
Which pictures best describe the challenge of coupling renewables and landscape?
The cover is expected to cast a light on the match-mismatch between energy plants and their physical reception frame that is landscape? We eagerly await your answers!
